TTG Red Special Super Workshop

The Red Special is the electric guitar designed and built by Queen's guitarist Brian May and his father, Harold, when Brian was a teenager in the early 1960s. May has used the Red Special almost exclusively, including on Queen albums and in live performances, throughout the band's entire career.
Join us for an unforgettable three-day workshop to build your own "Red Special" guitar, the iconic instrument made famous by Queen guitarist Brian May. In this hands-on class, you'll work closely with experienced guitar builders to create your own version of this iconic instrument.
We'll provide all the templates, binding, frets, pickguard, and wood - (mahogany for the neck and veneer, Block Board made in-house, and Oak for the core and fretboard.) All the finishing supplies will be provided as well. We will be using state-of-the-industry UV cure sealers and topcoats.
What you'll need to bring is your own Tri-sonic style pickups, tuners, switches, pots, and tremolo system. We will help you source these items, but it's easier logistics-wise if you bring them on your own.
No prior experience is necessary – our expert instructors Matt and Chris will guide you every step of the way, ensuring that you come away with a guitar that looks and sounds amazing. By the end of the class, you'll have a beautiful and functional "Red Special" guitar that you can take home and play for years to come.
But the fun doesn't stop there! On the evening of the final class, we'll head out to see Queen+Adam Lambert in concert, giving you the chance to hear the real "Red Special" in action and experience the thrill of live music with one of the greatest bands of all time. (Show ticket not provided in the course price.)
