About the event

Hi everyone I must admit that the dates for our upcoming May workshop really caught me by surprise. I mean, I knew it was coming up but I guess I wasn't looking at the calendar. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing y'all and building cool guitars. I have already talked to many of you but for the sake of everyone's sanity please do not assume that I remember everything. In order for me to have all the stuff we need I need to know what everyone is planning on building.Because this is a Classic Fender workshop You have the choice of ash or alder bodies Maple necks with whatever fretboard you like. Please let me know by Monday the 15th What hardware you will be bringing and using... Little things like holes for screws are totally different from one brand to the next. What color you would like to paint the body

I don't need to know what electronics you will be bringing with you, that might just bog me down with extra information. If you are Gary Redburn I already have a few things here waiting for you.

ALSO, BRING A FEW SETS OF STRINGS

If anyone needs a case Ike at Flipside can help sort us out. Just let him know. Thanks a million everyone see you in a few weeks

Classes start every day at 9 am and go to 5 pm. However, if we need to go longer, we certainly can.

A few new things as of 10-15-2021

Please bring lunch with you every day... In the past we have left the shop but having a little extra time each day is very beneficial. These are intense workshops and I want to make sure we have plenty of time to do everything y’all want to do.  We have a refrigerator and microwave that you are welcome to use. We have a coffee maker but no extra mugs. You can borrow one from your hotel, they won’t mind. We do lunch very haphazardly and you will need to remind Matt to stop if you get hungry or need a break.

If you are interested in a case for the guitar you are building, please contact Ike from Flipside Music. He has always bent over backward to accommodate these classes and has personally told me that he will deliver to the shop. Let him know what you want, he will check stock etc.  ike@flipside-music.com

Feel free to wear shorts if it is hot (or if you just want to show off your legs) but please, no sandals or open toe shoes.

We will try to clean as we go and need to keep the shop sorted out, swept up and have most of the tools put away every day. Again, you will need to help Matt do this or the shop will look like a disaster area, we won’t know where anything is and if we wait until the end of the day, we will have less time to build guitars.

Finally, let’s talk about our toy drive for "Toys for Tots"… Yes, seriously, I would appreciate it if everyone brought something nice to make an underprivileged child's Christmas a little better.

If you have any questions, we have your back, please do not hesitate to contact us.
